Competitive Salary Research
We research and analyze competitive salary practices by accessing national, regional, metropolitan, and industry-specific compensation data. We also conduct customized salary surveys on behalf of client companies by gathering competitive data for unique jobs that are not reported in published surveys. Salary data are recorded, weighted, aged, and analyzed to project current market target rates.

Base Salary Programs and Job Evaluation
For client organizations that value individual jobs, we develop internal job evaluation systems and assign salary grades. We have extensive experience in a wide variety of job evaluation techniques, ranging from simple ranking to committee-based job evaluation to computer-automated point factor systems.

We also develop salary grade structures that are affordable and reflect realistic hiring rates and salary growth opportunities for employees at all levels. A well-conceived salary grade structure helps to reduce turnover, heighten productivity, increase job satisfaction, and improve employee morale.

Incentive and Bonus Plans
We design and implement team incentives and gain-sharing plans that foster clear employee understanding and commitment to a company’s strategies and objectives. Team performance metrics are developed collaboratively with managers, supervisors, and employees. Customized instructional materials and computerized modeling of potential incentive awards are integral tools in our consulting process.

Sales Commissions
To help companies assure sales force enthusiasm and retention, we design and implement sales incentive plans. As part of the design process, we carefully assess the type of products and services being sold, degree of selling difficulty, sales objectives, internal equity of sales staff compensation, and competitive sales compensation practices. We also address the degree of sales effort required to maintain established customers, as compared to developing entirely new customers.

Our sales incentive plans reflect an appropriate balance between fixed base salary and variable sales reward.

Competencies and Detailed Behavioral Anchors
We design custom competencies and competency models for client organizations in collaboration with our alliance partner, The Odyssey Group, Inc. Each competency includes a core definition as well as five pre-defined levels of proficiency -- or behavioral anchors -- to enable more precise alignment of competencies to an individual job.

Through our alliance with HR Technology Solutions, Inc., the vendor of online human capital management tool HRToolbench, we provide an online job description module that includes comprehensive libraries of proprietary General and Function-specific competencies. Competencies can easily be configured and assigned to each job. General competencies reflect the core behaviors or skills that are required by all employees for organization-wide success. Function-Specific competencies reflect the job-specific behaviors and technical skills required for individual job success. Employees not only understand what competencies are required of their jobs, but also the target proficiency levels required for job success. This approach enriches the competency information associated with each job description.
